Merryl has had a love of speech and drama from an early age when she began learning at 6 years old. This led to a love of creativity, literature and performance. She is passionate about teaching and imparting knowledge and confidence to those interested in improving communication skills.

She has an associate and licentiate diploma through Australian Guild of Music and Speech and is an accredited examiner for the IMEB and is also a member of the board. She has also an honorary fellowship through the IMEB for her contribution to speech and drama through her career as a teacher.

Merryl has taught in private schools and currently operates her studio in the north west suburbs of Sydney. Through her teaching years she has seen many pupils graduate with high levels in performance and teaching diplomas through the IMEB. Merryl believes it is a privilege to inspire and encourage others into the art of creatively communicating.

She has had extensive experience as a teacher, examiner workshop presenter and adjudicator. Her adjudicating has taken her to many competitions throughout Australia and included an overseas invitation to Sri Lanka. She also has established an IMEB representative in Sri Lanka to assist in speech and drama there.
